Macro D70

Hi All, pretty new to this forum. I was at the zoo on Saturday - not part of the clubsnap outing - though I did see some people with some very long lenses walking about !! Anyway I took some shots with my D70 and 50mm 1.8D in the fragile forest show - now thwe photos are great but I want to get more detail - what lens would you reccomend....My thoughts have been the Nikon 105 but I have also read soem good things about the new tamron 90mm ?
