Hi all,

new to Rangefinder world, would like to ask a cosmetic question.

I just purchase a "imported" M9-P (thus no reciept but have warranty card). I realized the leather below the "Set" button come out easily. Not by a huge margin but still it shouldn't come out. My guess is it will come out sooner or later after repeated usage.

As per this thread, same issues

I want to ask, what is the normal thing for me to do. I ask the Raffles Store guy, they said they only entertain purchase with receipt and I do not want to send it back if possible :).

Err can i super-glue it or should i ask the Camera Hospital guy to fix it (I mean if he do such thing, cos dun wanna trouble him with small thing)...

Thanks for suggestion guys :)

Thats just pathetic service from them......

I think you can glue it back really but I'm not too sure on the kinda glue.

just use blu tac
:bsmilie: bluetac and m9-p don't sound like they belong leh... i think a small amount of adhesive should do the trick, I had an edge of the leatherette that came out from my previous m8 b4 as well.

I used super glue gel on my brass, but that's because its my banged up bessa.

You can consider super glue gel over super glue itself, more controllable. But I think there might be a better safer adhesive to use.

Thanks guy for the recommending the adhesive route. Will go for it for the time being :)

double side tape?

Options are 3m double sided tape, the thin version so there is no bulge. Second option is to use contact cement ie. the same glue that the bicycle shops use to repair a puncture.

All you need to do is clean the metal surface with a little surgical alcohol and let it dry. Use a cotton bud to do this. Takes seconds to dry. Next apply the contact cement to the metal surface. Use a small ice cream stick, cut down to size so it's easier. Then apply the contact cement to the leatherette. Do not let the two sides touch until both sides seems relatively dry. Only then do you press them together from inside towards the perimeter so as to push out any air bubbles.

If you need help, let me know. it's a 5 min job. My fee is coffee. Ha! Ha! I'm free tomorrow if you can come over to my place. You need to buy the glue though as I don't have any right now. Please do not use super glue as it sets hard and is non flexible.

Hey astroboy, thks for such a detail help. I will go hunt for the glue and try to DIY, so far it is just a small pop-up, hope it will stick hehe

If it's not a huge issue I suggest you leave it alone...

Use the camera for a year or two then go get a completely new skin from cameraleather.com

I think more worth it that way. Cosmetic issue.. won't affect the way your pics anyway...

Since you got the set oversea and still under warranty, you can go to Leica Singapore to make your claim. They may be able the stick for you locally at least. Note that Leica boutique in Raffles is a independent entity and only responsible for what they sell thru them. Even if you bought the camera from another local dealer in Singapore, the Leica shop in raffles will not service u.

I believe Leica will entertain any customer problem with their Leica hardware whether you get them locally or oversea. As long as the camera is not modified or a imitation, they will fix it to upkeep their reputation, especially the type of problem u are facing.

I will not suggest u to fix it yourselves.

Thanks for the tip on Raffle store. Will shoot for a while and get Leica Singapore to look at it.

I heard the leica store at raffles is actually maxphoto.

It is...... go spend anything on NETS or c/card and see your receipt....... Max XXX ? XXX Singapore Pte Ltd from what I recall.
