M9 latest firmware update 1.196

Has anyone updated to the lastest firmware 1.196? Any issues encountered? (better check first before updating;p)

BTW, is it possible to "downgrade" to earlier version if there is issue with the latest one?

Warning: Those who have the M9-P, do NOT upgrade! Once up-graded, no turning back (ie. cannot downgrade to earlier versions.) M9 can downgrade tho (v strange!) Anyway, The latest update seems to be buggy...and offers not much improvement (if any).

I did the upgrade on mine. So far on other forums I read, there's improvement in the number of shots under continuous shot and it clear buffer faster now.

read on rangefinderforum that the new firmware will shut down M9 when it finds that the battery is too old or weak..

I have the M9P that came with FW1.176. I updated to 1.196, and managed to go back to 1.176 with no problems.

The latest update has a few issues that are still not sorted out, like the slight freezing until the camera has written to the card that occurs occasionally when in Discreet single shot mode. The camera sometimes does not advance the shutter until all the data has been written to the card, but if you half press the shutter button then it goes back to normal. Because of this problem and asI had an important trip to India, I downgraded to 1.176 since I still had a copy stored, and had no problems doing the downgrade.
