M8.2 Alignment Problem

Hi All,

Am having this problem when I try to focus infinity with my 24mm on my M8.2, it seems that though the focusing is turn all the way to infinity the line is still a bit off which causes slight blur off in the centre focusing patch.

How should I go about solving this problem and if needed to send to service, where can I send it in and how fast this will be rectified ?

Many thanks

EF

Hihi... Are you sure the subject you're focusing on is at infinity? I noticed usually I need to move slightly backwards after infinity focus if the subject is around 1km away.

Hi All,

Am very sure it is and it seems that when i turn my lens focusing ring to infinity, it still slight off and cannot be reach . Can any kind soul please advice as I do not have this problem on my M8 though there is still a little bit .

Thanks in advance !!!

Hi, it looks like your M8.2 has the same problem as my M9. I sent my M9 together with all 3 of my M lenses back to Schmidt to be sent back to Solms for focussing calibration. After almost 7 weeks, my M9 and 3 M lenses are back. I will collect them today during lunch.

If your M8.2 is still under warranty, it is advisable to send it back for calibration. Otherwise, it can be a very expensive affair to send on your own.

Hi, just picked up my M9 and 3 M lenses from Schmidt Marketing. Focus is spot on with all 3 M lenses. Highly recommended to send in your M9 for calibration if you suspect it is off! The wait (in my case, about 6 weeks) can be real pain though. For your information, the M9 calibration cost is EUR319.10 and for each lens is EUR151.60 if it is not under warranty.
