Hi all....

This may sound a little wierd.

But can anyone tell me if your M6 TTL can fire a shot (after film advance) even if the shutter speed dial is in 'OFF" position and even when there's no batteries loaded? A

Also, no film loaded.

Thanks.

I used to have an M6-TTL but that was long ago. IIRC, the OFF switch is only for switching off the metering circuit and it does nothing to prevent one from firing the shutter, basically it is the same as 'B' (stupid, isn't it?!)

The OFF switch is moved to elsewhere in the next model - M7.

hi

yes to all. in the "off" position, it behaves like the "B" (bulb) mode.

the M6TTL is fully mechanical in operation without batteries and you can use it at all shutter speeds. You cannot, however, fire the flash without batteries - this is the only difference between it and the classic M6 or the M2/3/4/5 and the MP.

Yes,the shutter can be released when the dial is in "OFF",the feeling is the same as with Bulb...

Thanks all.

I did have a M6 TTL before. I sold it long ago and gotten myself the M7 . Already forgotten how it works again and only when I was playing with my friend's M6 TTL that I realised. It is just something that didn't seem wierd at that time before the M7 came about.

Thread close.
