Mit dem 28-mm-Modul A12 bringt Ricoh die vierte Sensor-Objektiveinheit für das GXR-System. Ein Bajonett-Modul für Leica M soll folgen.

Next year, Ricoh wants a wide-angle lens with APS-C sensor module and a bayonet bring that enables the use of Leica M lenses.

Now that is what I call good news.

Wow, good news in deed. The GXR is one of my all time favorite cameras.

I will definitely be interested in a Ricoh M-mount module. At least I don't have to worry about Sony's lenses being actually useful.

I think this was announced previously in march

Here's another module with m4/3 mount, so i guess its definitely possible and feasible as the sensor and flange are in one module.

Man ... first it's Fuji, now it's Ricoh. And better still M mount and interchangable lenses! Life getting more interesting by the minute.

Used Leica lens price will surge again.

There is always a better alternative... and BEST, can get it NEW! :bsmilie:

And made in japan some more!

Is the Ricoh GXR better than the Sony NEX?

The GXR is Ricoh's quirky attempt to introduce something to challenge m43 and other mirrorless systems out there.

Each lens module comes with a different lens, sensor and processor. The body is nothing more than the SD card reader, LCD, battery and interface.

As a result, it is almost impossible to compare it with the NEX since there no way to tell what the new M module comes with and how it will pair with M lenses.

From a usability point, the GXR has an amazing EVF that will help with manual focusing, the NEX only has a OVF at the moment.

I will assume they'll use the same sensor as their other module with 1.5x crop, if it is a different sensor (i.e. better) or even full frame there will be riots... :)

If it's full frame, I'm definately getting it, unless the sensor is horrible.
