Lousiest Service I ever Encountered

Is it just me or it happen to you guys also...

I bought a CF card from somebody here who was selling it a few months ago a Transcend which he promised me to be 5 yrs warranty.
I encountered a problem and fine he said just send him and he will replace a new one for me...
Now is almost 2 MONTHS! I havent gotten hold of it... He din inform me until ard 1 month ;( And I am always the one calling him... Did not apologise.. Nothing... Now the CF card is here... someone else say he gonna meet me in NUS to pass me... but NOOOO.. until now... nothing.. din even have the mind to give me a contact no.. just email.... until now.. 5 days havent gotten it... I missed impt events I suppose to cover.... nothing...

What ans A** I suggest for all of you to buy from the shop coz this kinda a thing is F***ing irritating...

Just feel damn freakin pissed now...
 

Care to share who that person/shop is?

Anyway, if those events are really important, shouldn't you have bought another piece or borrow one so that you won't miss them?

Yes actually I did borrow another CF card from a fren but apparently she needs them tonite. So I cant use it and I am stuck with a 32 MB Cf card which is practically useless.

Now I have to pray hard that my Cf card will be working well so I dun have to return to him anymore :confused:
Now I think its better to buy from shops or memoryworld huh? Hasty hasty.... :(
 

If it's not a parallel import set, I would suggest you get back the card and claim warranty from Memory World.

Also, to make things happen, go and meet him to get back the card, don't wait for him to deliver you.

Yes I agree. Go to him, coz it seems he's rather passive.

In any case, if still cannot solve, bring your receipt and go file a CASE charge against him.
 

AJ23: Is dat even allowed? :dunno: I dun have receipt from Memoryworld ... and how do you identify parallel import goods?

chyeo: I dun think you can file a CASE report for an individual rite?

Cannot ah? I dunno man... but no harm calling up to ask CASE loh... if can then do it loh... if cannot then cross fingers and hope the new card dun cok up again
 

I think you can file small claims tribunal.

From your packaging, did u find any company stamp from Memory World?
 

moral of the story: Always buy your stuff from a reputable and reliable source.

I din buy it from memoryworld. I got it from those ppl doing CF orders a few months back coz it is cheaper..... Oh well finally he contacted me last nite, I will see how it goes. Just hope the card wun screw up again :S
 

Actually i think you should mention the person.

A) it gives you more credibility and with a name, the person can refute it here if he disputes with your version of the facts

B) pple will be more inclined to believe u when they know that your story is up to scrutiny

c) other pple who have bought CFs from this person will be put on notice and may post their stories (if they kena also) to corroborate your claim

d) helping the rest of the CS community so that they know that this guy cannot be trusted and not to buy from him again....and this is important, unless of course u are going to watch more lambs to the slaugther and not do anything abt it.

moral of the story, pls share the nick with us. i am considering buying cfs from pple here,b ut in the light of this story, mayeb not...at least we know who specificalyl to avoid and that will also teach the person involved not to have such lousy customer service if he wants to continue getting business.

if what u say is true, u wont have anything to hide and I dont see how it would prejudice ur position to make known the party involved.

Agree with vince. By keeping quiet, you are indirectly saboing all the individual sellers. Nobody dare to buy from anyone anymore.

Memory World is the local agent for Transcend products, if he gets from them, your packaging will still have Memory World's company stamp.
 

hi sesame street.

if the local agent is not able to change your card itself, you can approach the transcend directly..
my sandisk died on me couple of months back, and i had lost the reciept. The local agent refused to do anything for me.. they wanted to charge me 30 dollars to replace a 128mb CF..
so, I contacted sandisk corp in the US thru mail, and they gave me a replacement. was quite impressed by their service. sent it to me via registered UPS parcel service.

only thing is you'd have to wait bout 2-3 weeks.
 

Fully agree with Vince and ST1100. Many CS members have been hit by some irresponsible and some hit-and-run sellers that could cause more suspicion on any sellers, even those innocent one. Even shops are blacklisted publicly. Likewise some are sellers and buyers who after making arrangement made a no-show without even a apology message. ;(

Wow... huge interest from you guys... :bigeyes: sorry for the late reply, I got class today.

I should elaborate what happen today... I met the guy (finally!!!!) after I call again last nite and say that he gonna give me the card this morning after getting it from his fren last nite.
So great I appreciate his service (and also I was quite glad that I get something.. finally!).....

Something I want to ask tho' he gave me the card opened (as in not in plastic packaging which suppose to be for any new Cfcard). I asked me whether its new, he said yes.... I ask him for the plastic packaging, he said he opened it. However I was stupid enough not bringing my camera to test it outas I dun have my camera then....

I ask him for the serial nos. as I want to register my new warranty online thru Transcend website he pointed to me the number printed in the CF card. But he said the nos. is the same for all the card for this type ... Is this true??? Coz now I suspect that its my old card.. (altho it may not be true you cannot blame me for thinking that way after what happened to me..)
However he said he tested it and it suppose to be fine... Next he said that there might be some pics on the card, I should delete it coz thats the pic that he was testing..... I just check the card and no pics inside (which again I cant help but thinking whether its new coz he seems unsure, maybe its just old card that he picked up? I dunno.. :dunno:)

But anyhow I am damn glad that I have a CF card and as long as it is working I am fine with it.. at least for now.... another thing is he said that any problem can contact him and he will get me a new one.. (again!?!??!) and he said he will lend me his CF card next time...

SO what dya think guys? Is it new? Anyway to check it? Does it mean I have another 5 yrs warranty from now??
 

Another thing is about naming the person...

There are some reservations that I have in mind about naming the person...
1. Firstly, I would think that the seller is sincere enough, by at least picking up my phone call everytime I call him. I just hope that from his experience now he should learn to improve his service. Also I do not want to jeapordise his business if I am an isolated case. I dun think its right...

2. I think the problem lies in communication with his supplier. After around 1 month the supplier email me with a simple email: There is a no stock for the card around the world now. The shipment will be late. (or something like that). I do not mind this kinda email of coz, but after so long? And also no news from him until I ask when the he said the week after, fine I waited. ( That is already 1 month plus).... nothing happen the next week thus I call him again. He said it was mailed on Fri so I should get it by Monday.
Again nothing happen on Monday, I waited and come this email from someone else (which I suspect is his supplier, Markie), to tell me that i wrote the wrong add and he will meet me in NUS tom and asked for my phone nos.

Fine, i give him mine, but nothing happen, I emailed him again and he said: so sorrie I will call you tom. Nothing happen again, of coz. I got pissed and write an email to him again in CAPITALS that I need the CF card the next dae (that is today) and I already missed an event bla bla bla... altho' i dun say any profanities of coz... but his reply is making me freakin damn irritated:
hey man, sure thing. I also very busy. blah blah blah

Never give me his contact nos which I asked since his fiz email... he is trying to avoid me! Even when I call the seller, he refused to give Markie nos. and say he will settle for me. Then he gets the card and pass to me this morning....

3. You see that it is not entirely his fault. Maybe he got a F***ed up supplier and communcation system, but I guess if you guys wanna know its someone who sell this CF card quite sometime ago (around 7-8 months).
Anyway if you really wanna knoe can PM me...

4. Also I dun want to screw up the other guys who are sincere enuff to do this rite?

And no, ultrazoom, thats not him... ;)

Anyone else have such experience? Maybe its just me :(
