I have seen posts not recommending going to lords to purchase cameras.
"they recommend because they get benefits.."

This is what one cser commented on those who recommended the shop.

may i know what do they mean?

Totally bulls**ting! I went there without quoting any names or references to buy D200 and got one of the lowest price in town w/o any hidden cost.

Friendly, trustworthy.

yea, nothing beats lords/james in prices

i would recommend lords too...

So far lords has been friendly to me if i just drop by to see see look look. No problems at all. Some people might not like the salespeople`s attitude but then not all of them are bad.

Just go there and check out the price and service for yourself... and you will find out the true fact.

If I had to buy stuff, I would gladly buy from them. They have consistently offered me lower prices than other places. And they don't pressurize you to buy when you drop by. Sometimes I tell them I just wanted to know the pricing & they are still friendly.

Got mixed feelings for them. They give me good price for a lens but over-charge me on my lowepro slingshot 200 AW(told me after discount = $100). I think MS, AP sells for ~90or less.
However, I blame myself partly for not doing my homeowork on the price of bags. I did for the Lens only and initially have no intention to buy a bag that day.

Conclusion:- Will still go there see see look look but will do more homework if I wanna to get anything. They are still friendly in comparison.

In general, I still prefer them more than shops in SLS......

My2cents.

my experience with them is good too especially with nikon lenses and camera bodies.

LORDS

great service, friendly salesmen.....can call to reserve also! (if they know you)

same here... i do realise their quote for lowepro products are pretty much higher than the rest, but body/lens price are lower or equiv.

i got my d200 grip from lords....better service than alan photo( which is forever very crowded). price was the best back then compared to MS color, alan photo, tk and cathay photo....i also recommend them to ppl...i don get any benefits...

I do not get any benefits from Lords. The people who made insinuations have no idea what they are talking about!

Oh Yes! Maybe there might be some benefits! The people whom I asked to go to Lords are happy, and they buy me coffee!!

I will not hesistate to recommend Lords. I do not own any shops. But I believe that pricing can sometimes be a complex issue. Lords is a Nikon outlet, and may be able to offer Nikon products at a "better" price. But they may have to get other products at higher prices, and hence sell them at a higer price than the competitors.

Once I went to them to buy a CF card, and James asked me to come back in a couple of weeks if I am not in a hurry, because the price would have dropped significanty if I was prepared to wait. He was right!

I read in some old threads that lords has a very loose return policy. They allowed a CSer to return a lens AFTER two full shoots.... I am interested in getting some nikon lens from them (they seem to have a LOT of stock) but is kind off put off by this.

Is this true? I don't really want to pick up a "2nd hand" lens.....

You must know the right person in Lords to deal with.

Last time I asked them about nikon product and get a good price, but I am not buying that time. Second time I visit them the person is not there, so I ask another seller and get higher price than the first seller. So I mention about the first price with first seller name. He call first seller and talking in Chinese. My wife understand Chinese a bit and say he said I am foreigner, should they give first price? Finally they say ok to the first price.

I am not blame them to have a store in Tourist area...

Regards,
Arto.

Hmm.... I guess if wanna buy lowepro, better get from MS color cos they're the main distributor right?
anw, I still give Lords the thumbs up for non-pushy, friendly service!
