Hi. Thanks to all who has PMed me, I am in the midst of shortlisting.
Do note that to be an Actual Day Wedding Photographer one must have the following attributes:
(1) Have the passion to capture moments, we do not have the luxury of time, missing that moment, you will miss your shots. As such the term photojournalism is used for such photography.
(2) Be prepare for long hours, it is no joke, I did one recently from 5.30 am (as MUA has only such slot for make-up before 6.30) till almost midnight after the last guest leaves the banquet, no breaks in between, as I had to produce the Morning Highlight in a DVD slideshow within 3 hours in the couple's room, 18 hours in total. You need to have dinner at 6 pm before the action starts. I remembered having suffered from knee pain for almost a week.
(3) People-oriented personality, remember, if you can't connect with the couple, there is no synergy and partnership.
(4) Extreme space and light condition, imagine going into a poorly lighted 2-rooms flat with 25 relatives and friends, without wide-angle lens how can you take shots in such constraints. A range of lens is needed for such scenario.
(5) You need to be ready with backup equipments, lens, cameras, flashes as AD wedding photographers CANNOT fail, not even a half charged battery, we are constantly on the move.
(6) Not forgetting more than a day's work in Post Processing of Photos and meeting clients' requirements of the shots they hope to receive.
I admire Wedding Photographers especially Actual Day's, for all those attributes listed above, they are upholding one of the most challenging job in photography.
I hope my 5 cents worth of sharing provide some light on Actual Day Photography.
Good night.
Regards,
Bernard
