Hey guys!
Could I please get a recommendation for a lab in Singapore that gives you a good screen/print match? My system is color calibrated, workflow is in sRGB. I've had a really good run with a pro shop in Adelaide, but now back in SG and wanna get some 8x12ins printed. Thanks!

you've to inform them you're from CS. If not they'll charge you higher.

Thanks guys! I've been using ML from before, however the pro shop in adelaide has much better color accuracy. I guess I'll just need to try the other shops around the city, if not just order in from abroad. Cheers!

Don't mean to hijack your thread, any place in town or Central-North Singapore (e.g. AMK/TPY) for Digital Printing?

You can try Kim Tian in Chinatown.

personally i go to grace digital at sunset way, off clementi road.
quite a lot of pros do their prints there too. =)

do a search in the forums for more info on the shop.

KC Kodak Lab. West Coast. Opp West Coast Plaza. In front of CC's basketball court. Lab received awards before. Former Fotoplus. Say u from Clubsnap.

If you're on the west side, go to Miao Laan.

They are goood. Printed with them before. Very color accurate

Hey guys,
Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions. What I did was to send the same print files I printed in Adelaide to the usual suspects in the city and to ML as well (Printed 8x12, 5x7 ins, 3 nature photos, 1 portrature to 5 different labs.)

All of them were told not to do color corrections, and all came back pretty close. However, one lab did better than the rest, I'll definitely be getting many 12x18ins done by them. Some labs were surprising good for the price. All were very friendly :)

Cheers all!

Alvin

Hi Alvin,
Care to share which that "one lab" was that you felt was better than the rest?
Your opinion would be valuable to most of us here in the forum.

Hi there!
It makes little difference what lab I prefer, because everyone's monitor is different, and probably calibrated differently, and most likely using different light sources. I have 2 monitors for photo processing, and both give me slightly varied outputs even though they are all "calibrated". I just picked the monitor that travels with me, even though it probably is a 6bit tn piece of crap. I just wanted to know which lab would be good so as to have a good starting point.

That said, I won't say that particular labs is better as in "OMG IT KICKS SUPER ASS" but better as in, I prefer their color output. If you really wanna know PM me, cause all the labs I printed at were very, very close. This particular lab I just prefer their color output because it seems closest to my monitor.

Again, note that I work in a raw sRGB workflow; even my working color space is sRGB - I think most here who work in raw probably use Pro Photo RGB for their color space.

I get my 12x18in prints back on tuesday, and my 6x9 scans as well. I hope both kick ass :)

Cheers!

Alvin

Thanks for the reply, Alvin!

Hear you on the "personal prefence on the monitor coloir vs. print colour comparison" thingy.
But that didn't stop curious me from sending you a PM:)

Cheers!
