be realistic,

photographers who own a studio, their hourly service rate is $150 and above,

and

junior photographers (without owning a studio) probably charging $50 per hour for some causal shoots.

and

if you go and rent a bare studio, the studio hourly rate is already $35,

for $20 per hour, not sure what can you find......

good luck.

Is it possible to implement a minimum hourly wage for photography services wanted. That way, ridiculous requirements like this can be removed and the integrity of the profession can be upheld.

My guess is TS is probably taking his/her pick from the dozens of responses that throng in.

It's hard to regulate the freelance industry. I just spoke to a store owner who couldn't stop singing praises about the FOC product shoot work that a student did for her. I can kind of guess her expectations of paying decent rates for photography.

Don't worry.. U cannot survive on targeting the budget customer.. Just focus on quality and good service.. Customer will come.

Not plausible, i assume. This is a forum, posting here to look for service is like buy/sell section. You want, u deal, dont want just walk. Having said that, i believe it is up to the common sense of individuals to measure how good is this job. What if it is only 1 hr job in the end? 20 bucks is perhaps not even enough to cover taxi fare, just saying. Desperation to establish or get aasignment should not be stronger than one's dignity.

at that rate, smart photogs can also take their time setting up and actually clicking the shutter. for $20 an hr, wats the rush?
If TS needs it quick, just add a rush fee :D

No amount of slowing down will compensate for the time spent to earn more money from such an assignment. No matter how slow u go, it will take 10 hours to earn $200.

Its a case by case basis i guess. The photog who takes up the offer might not be getting any other offers for the rest of the week... let alone the stipulated time of 10hrs trying to earn $200.
