Is there such a place in Singapore or anyone doing this?
Loan of the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens ... I know many will thought that why so cheapo and not go and buy a new one. ;p
Well, personally for me, I find it abit expensive to spend $1000plus for a lens which I never got to use it frequently. I only shoot when I go travelling, and I intend to go for one this September.

So if anyone know any lobang like that, kindly tell me more about it.
Thanks.:)

bt how long is your holiday?
some ppl may not want to rent out for a real long time.

I'm sure if you put down a deposit amounting to the full cost of the lens, they won't mind renting it to you for as long as you want. :p

Then again, it depends on the country which you will be visiting.

If its some places where humidity levels are high and there's no dry cabinet... :nono: :nono:

Also, rental for 16 days might not be cheap. Perhaps you might like to purchase one and use it for the trip. Sell it off when you are back and you might not lose as much.

Cheers

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions.
But is it easy to sell of as a 2nd hand in Singapore?
I am afraid that it might be hard to sell it off.

In fact, I got an offer of less than $200 to loan for 16 days. Do you guys find that ex or cheap?

I'm sure you'll have no problem selling off this very in-demand lens so long as it's still in good working & cosmetic condition after your trip! I've never rented a lens before so can't comment if the rental rate quoted is high or low.

seems like a gd deal..i got a quote for 18-200vr for $25/day..

oh really ... probably because I loan for quite a long period so that person give me a discount. :dunno: just my guess :)

go get a new 1 @ 1250+/-, come back and sell @ 1100 (provided that you didn't break/scratch... etc anything)... you get to use a brand new copy at nearly 1/2 the price of what you pay if you rent it...

Quickly get it today before the GST goes up & you can still take part in the GSS too (but must keep the receipt though). Thing is you got to come out with the $1250+ to buy it in the first place....
