To welcome Year 2012, we've decided to raise greater awareness for Endangered Wildlife world-wide with a series of desktop wallpapers for all to decorate, learn and enjoy. Here's to prepare you for Jan 2012!
To kick off this series, we have the Red-crowned Cranes, also know as the Manchurian Cranes. The 2nd rarest in the world with about 1,200 in Japan & approx. 1,500 in eastern mainland Asia. Hokkaido is the only place in Japan where the species normally occurs as residents. In China, Japan, and Korea, Red-crowned Cranes also are associated with longevity, happiness and good luck.
