Lens prices in other countries

i have compared shops in Hk and USA. I found out CATHAY PHOTO singapore's prices are generally more expensive. IN addition, the prices are not fixed and not transparent.

Could it be due to fluctuating exchange rates (HK$ is pegged at a fixed rate to US$) or the nature of how the business was conducted (store front vs online presence of some US merchants)?
