Not sure if I should buy here, eBay looks like it has a lot of 50mm f1.7 offers, though manual but I can handle I hope. Much cheaper, if I buy when I go over to London. :think:

When I was in the UK on a long holiday, I found that one can find USED Pentax lenses very easily from Cash Converters, thrift shops, small camera shops or boot sales. Pentax is popular there. Prices in London are usually much higher but the variety is pretty good. If you want to buy new, it is definitely cheaper here.

eBay prices can get crazy and spiralling upwards because the Pentax user base is increasing and slowly mopping up the pool of older Pentax lenses. Prices definitely cheaper a year back, less so now.

hi guys, just a quick update.

in the end, i got a FA 50mm 1.4... and the 50-200mm DA lens.

now to find an insert (e.g. like crumpler bunion) for my messenger bag to fit my new additions (my existing tamrac toploader can only squeeze in the 50mm at the side, but not the tele-zoom)...any suggestions besides crumpler? theirs a bit too ex for me...
