Lens advice

As some of you may have known, I am a new Leica user. (Thanks for the advice given in my previous thread!)
I am planning for either a 21/35/50 or a 28/35/50 combination and I currently own a 35 cron ASPH and 50 nokton 1.1. Greedy as it sounds, I will want to upgrade these lens in the future, not anytime soon. I wish to seek advice from any primary 35 users if the Summilux FLE is a significant upgrade from the cron. Also, for someone who uses mostly 35mm, is it advisable to sell off the nokton for a summilux or summicron 50mm and if so, which one? Thanks again!

Firstly, this is a rather personal choice than 'must be' or 'best' on focal length and f stop selection of lenses.
I as an individual find 50mm too restrictive, especially indoors shooting. Therefore I use 35mm as my all round usage lens. Some will find f2 good enough especially the M allows one to use ISO 1600 and maintain good enough resolution. My choice is a 35mm Lux Fle as I can use my lens freely indoors w/o using flash. It was my first Leica lens and I happily still use it often. For wide, I fall back on my 21mm lux while 50mm Noc and 90mm AA are my choice lenses for portraits. Just need a few M lenses and not too many.

Agree with sillbeers not too many lens.... I for one prefer the 50mm to the 35mm as I like that framesize for the framing my subjects/objects. I'm using the 50mm summilux asph and is my main lens. I also have the lux 35mm for indoor shooting or for landscape where I want to capture a wider background. I have the 90mm elmarit for potraits where I do not want to be close to the subjects... I feel with these 3 I have sufficient equipment for my needs. A 21mm may come in handy next time when I have the spare cash....

simply no best lens :) You have tons of option.

I have maybe 10 x 35mm lenses. Sometimes you do not want to fastest (heaviest). Sometimes you want the lightest, smallest lens so you can put the set in the coat's jacket. Sometimes you want to take better black and white photos. Sometimes you want to shoot color. Sometimes you want soft & glowing. Sometimes you want swirly bokeh. So it really depends on what you want.

One of Leica advantages is small package. I don't like to carry fast lenses unless I need to shoot low light.

Some of my favourites: UC-hexanon 35/2, Summicron V1 35/2 or Summaron 35/2.8, Summilux Preasph 35/1.4, Nikkor 35/2.5, Nikkor 35/1.8.

Some of the best lenses money can buy!!! Maybe also add a Fujinon 35mm f2 ltm?

As for bang for buck lens, a good choice is the canon 35mm f2 ltm

Both d lux 35/1.4 pre asph n canon 35/2 ltm r really compact. Good for carry around.

35mm for me but learning with 50mm sonar lens for now which I loan from my friend. Nice bokeh but with occasional focus shift. Portrait taken when the focus is nailed is delicious.

Anyway try all and see which one you like. So many choices hard to recommend. Choose your own poison hehehe!
