Leica wishlist

Folks! Slow day at the office so here's a thought about what I'd really like to have from Leica.

For someone who uses wide angles 95% of the time, the rangefinder / viewfinder doesn't get used very often. This is especially so with the convenience of the EVF. So what I'd really like from Leica is an M camera without the rangefinder / viewfinder. Leica has done it before with the MDA. In essence, I'm very interested in a digital version of it and if they are willing to price it downwards, all the better! Of course, the port for the EVF should stay.

What would you like from them?

There were quite a lot of RF based cameras without viewfinders. The Zeiss Ikon SW and the Voigtlander Bessa L amongst others.

They are quite fun to use actually.

I, for one, would like a control dial on the top left side of the digital M body, where the film rewind knob used to be for the M3. Epson had done it previously, when it launched the world's first digital rangefinder camera. It's actually very nice to use and can fool others into thinking it's actually a rewind knob.

Here's a photo from Geckopaca to illustrate the point.

Oh yes, and a body profile with the same thickness and the film M. I'm OK with a protruding lens mount (like the Epson R-D1).

Cheers,

Oh yeah, saw the SW before and read about the Bessa. Still think the MDA looks best though.

Another feature I'd like to have is a prompt to select a lens profile whenever a non-coded lens is attached. I lost count of how many times I forgot to set the lens profile whenever I change lenses. Also wish that the camera will read a coded lens automatically without having to set it to "automatic". This will save some hassle when I change from a non-coded lens to a coded one.
