Leica Summicron 35mm F2 screw mount.

Anyone have tested the lens before, i believe it is the same as Version 1. Cant find much info on the net. Anyone have more info on this lens?

It is the V1. But I believe that it is even harder to find than M mount V1. Optical are the same as far as I know, but focus distance is 1m compared to 0.7m in M-mount.

If I'm not wrong, for the M mount version, screws hold the M-mount in place & if you unscrew to remove the M mount, you get a screw mount lens.

I have the M version, focus down to ~0.7m.
The original screw mount focuses down to 1m (u can search for photos of it in ebay)

yepp i did see it on ebay. i suspect that the screw mount lens i saw was non-authentic one as it focus down to 0.65m not 1m.

If it focus down to 0.65m, better to stay away from it :nono:
This is originally designed for M3 (ie. should have an aux attachment "eyes"). If used on any other M cameras without the "eyes", focusing will be ALL out!

A true SM 8-E summicron focus down to 1m.

this screw mount summicron focus down to 0.65m too??

oh.. i found it, it was stated

1) Summicron 35 1:2 optically lens glass has no scratches or marks of any kind, no separation or fungus, blades and focus work perfectly including infinity lock, looks Ex++ or better, no heavy signs of use, comes with original caps, please note that this lens has the minimum distance of 0.65 m which indicates that it was an M lens, lens was professionally calibrated for the screw mount body, this will only work as a screw mount lens and focuses to infinity on the IIIg body with no problem.
