Leica M9 and Zeiss Lenses - what setting in the Lens Detection menu

Hi all,

I am shooting with M9 + Zeiss 50mm Planar f/2 now.
I have a question on what setting to use in the Lens Detection menu in M9?

- I currently set it to Manual and then choose 50 f/2 11817

Is that right?

I noticed that the actual image taken was always slightly bigger than the framelines for 50 shown inside the viewfinder.
Anything I set wrongly?

11817 is correct. I dunno why ur pic is bigger than frame lines tho

normal. This happen to be on 24, 35 and 50 also. Not sure why but bigger at least can crop. so I am ok.

If I'm not wrong framelines are all calibrated to be accurate at 1 meter distance. Anything more or less than that, it's subject to some amount of inaccuracy.

I think for 50mm and above there is no lens correction involved. So you can leave it as it is unless you want the lens information in your file.
