Very cheap, only for the price of 2500 rolls of developed B&W film

I take it positively. 2500 is around 90,000 shots.

I normally shot 1500 pictures a month. so to speak, after 60months (5 year) my camera will break even. and I think I can sell (after 5 years) for 4K. And the 4K is a profit.

Don't worry, just engrave a LEE on the camera and it will fetch a lot lot more then, a truly collector's item!

:bsmilie: :bsmilie:

now... will the original monochrome drop in prices on buy/sell? :sweatsm:

I didn't see it, is the available date mentioned? Just curious :-)

I've heard that Leica will start shipping it in mid May 2015.

I wonder when supply will normalize. I read elsewhere that the waiting list for previous rangefinders lasted 5 months or so.

May be a good time to pick up the old MM for cheap :)

I am interested.

Whats the diff between shooting monochrom with this camera vs later conversion in post process?

Is it just a fad thing?

its past mid-May and seems like there're no news of MM246 being shipped. Anyone placed their orders?

Just got mine yesterday, from Leica Store ION. Exciting!

The first version of the Monochrom comes with 18mb and the latest is 24mb. Actually not a huge different in image quality. But I would like to share the reasons for upgrading to the new monochrom.

I have the M240 body so it shares the same batteries, evf and focus peaking.Hence it's comfortable to use the two bodies system at he same timeIn the past when I use the monochrom, I do not have live viewing when using different lenses.

Im interested in this camera as my niche is black and white.

Any current users of this camera care to share their comments and reviews on the image quality, usability of this camera?

Interested to know what are the "cons" too.

Just wondering, why not get one with color then convert the color images to B&W in comparison to buying a digital that cost so much yet it only produce B&W and still a digital?

I guess ppl forgot the fun about shooting film, the developing process and scanning process when u compare to the no. of rolls of film you will break even with....
