Hi,

Has anyone tried using a leica M in a studio? I think I saw someone post an image recently (clubgrit??). My question though is how and what do you do to trigger studio flash? Do you use a Leica flash and set the studio flash/strobe as slave?

I am also new to studio photography, hence I have limited knowledge in this area of photography as well.

Was just wondering how one should go about doing it with a Leica M..

Same thing that you radio/IR trigger that you put on the hotshoe. As long as your hotshoe is working it should work.

Hello,

Same as with the Hassy :

http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=267079

The sync cord is for Leica Ms without hotshoes (cold shoes only like Leica M2, M3, M4), or without flash triggers (you connect this cord from the flash trigger or the strobe to the sync socket near the viewfinder, the one with the flash sign, not bulb sign). If with a studio flash trigger, no need for the cord on those with hot shoes like M6. In this sense, it's the same as what DSLR users would do. But if all else fails, the sync cord is always there. And then there might be a case where the flash trigger won't fit on the shoe (hot/cold) of a Leica M (although it usually does fit).

Once done, get the results printed traditionally (at least if B&W). Then it would really be great ...

P.S. Almost forgot, you can only use shutter speed 1/50 ... You can use above 1/50 for creative stuff, though, but just shoot 1/50 and below (1/30, ...) ...

.

ok thanks.. i'll give the suggestions a try...
