I would like to start a new thead that keeps up to date on the latest camera memory card promotions. I am not promoting any brand, shop etc... but would like to find out the latest, most attractive promos for memory cards. Please contribute to this thread when you find a good offer....

My first contribution : not sure if it is a typo... but the SDHC 8GB class 2 is $67

Awesome prices! Everyone should take a look at that link.

Valid only for this weekend!

an the SDHC caard be used in a SD card slot?

Thanks for sharing. Last Dec, bought the 1GBSD for $45. Great price!

what is class 2? will the write speed be very slow?

could it be a printing error? cause 4gb already $62.

I think cannot... unless your camera specs say it takes SDHC.
Canon 850 IS spec say it takes SDHC while the 800 IS does not.
But no harm in trying I guess... :)

I think so  ... class 2/4/8 means minimum transaction speed (read/write ?) of 2/4/8 mb/sec.
Well if you just need the capacity... than ok I guess ;p

Not advisable for use on DSLR as the transfer speed will be slow down due to interface. This will slow down your continuous shots. :)

If I am not wrong, continuous shots of DSLR does not make use of memory card. Instead, the images of those coninuous shots are first saved into the built-in cache, before it is transferred into the memory card. Hope some guru could shed some light.

I was at SLS today and these are the prices from Active Foto.

Kingston SD Lifetime Warranty
2GB standard $29.90
2GB 50x elite pro $36.70
2GB 120x ultimate $55.90

a faster card can enable one to take more photos before slowing down. ;)
