Ruby just received their latest stock of TriX at the old price. The rumor about the new prices are not fiction.

I just checked the new price of TriX at Cathay and it's officially a heart wrenching $9 per roll :bigeyes::bigeyes::bigeyes:.

So for those who have not stocked up on their favorite B&W, better do it quickly.

If you guys are looking for alternatives to Tri-X 400, can try Ilford HP5+

I finish an entire 100feet of Ilford HP5+, my newbie eyes really cant tell the difference. In fact, I prefer HP5+ these days. 5mins developing time, pushing to 800 or 1600 also much faster than Tri-X in terms of developing time.

I heard that is an increase in Ilford as well but erm it is 50cents :angelnly compared to $4from Kodak?

Can try Delta 400 as well.

The folks there trying to recover their claimed loses of 125%? Bad move I would say......

I have taken a liking for Ilford Delta as well. Nice sharp film, with nice smooth blacks but not so black as to not retain any detail.

HP5+ is cool as well. It looks comparable to Tri X.

I have tried TMax, but sometimes, it's a bit too light. It's great to capture shadow details, but the shadows look... rather light.

I would suppose it is a better film when it comes to architecture and so forth.

I apologise for this statement. I meant that I saw approx 100 rolls in the top cupboard. Its at old price of $5.
