Hi guys

Need some help, my Konica Hexar RF decided to get a permanent cardiac arrest on Saturday which was really a start of the great weekend for me ;(

Anyway, am having the problem of the flashing "10" on the camera. According to this table of errors, it says "standby misoperation"

Is there any one you guys would recommend to repair this camera? Electronics quite different from mechanical cameras.

I just emailed Sony, which took over the servicing of Konica Minolta cameras since 2006 but most likely I foresee them replying "sorry, we do not have parts or service that camera any more"

no one had this problem as well? I must be very special :bsmilie:

Anyway, I went to Sony Servicing center yesterday & handed the camera over to them. Said that they will call in 3-4 working days time to advice on avaliability of spares, repair charges etc. before they go ahead with it.

Praying hard that they got the spares really

Just curious, did they have 'the look' that said you're still shooting in film?

yea, the service staff servicing had this big WTF look on his face. Like seriously written all over his face.

It like I took some pre-war equipment out really. :bsmilie:

I'am just updating this thread for any Hexar RF users out there, some FYI should your camera get a cardiac arrest like mine.

I just got mine back Sony Singapore. It was sent to Konica Minolta Japan for servicing by Sony Singapore according to the technician here.

Tested everything on the spot, seems to be working well, waiting to finish up my roll of film in it to see how it went.

Total cost was SGD385. SGD 300 for parts, SGD60 for servicing charge & the rest was GST.

Still acceptable in terms of charges. Gives us confidence to continue playing with the Hexar systems.

Cheers,

Pretty reasonable, considering the freight with EMS to japan would have cost nearly S$60...

Am just glad my Hexar is back in its working condition now!

Have a good cosmetic copy, that looks damn new except the electronic glitch killed it, heng its settled already ;)

Not sure how Sony Singapore got it sent over the Sony Japan. My bet is that they shipped it together with their internal shipment? I believe such a huge corporation like Sony should have shipments of files/document/corporate gifts going to & fro from Japan to Sing vice versa on at least a 3day basis? Prob they just stashed it in one of the shipments.
