Quite an interesting departure from the classic idea of a fresnel.
The genius is in the design of the plastic lens.

I tried putting a magnifying glass in front of a Z96 and got pretty interesting results including:
-grid of bright round spots.
-venetian blind effect
-fish scale patterns.
But no spotlight
But the magnifying glass patterns are all quite bright and soft focused, perfect for creating illusion of
shallow DOF for interviews in tight spaces. No gobos needed. Just a friction arm and a small magnifying glass/ reading perspex!
