Anybody using JVC camcorder here? What type of file is it? avi? mpeg? Thinking to buy one. but am wondering will I be able to use Ulead video studio to edit videos taken with JVC camcorder.

Thanks.

mod file... readable by the bundled Power Director software.
...think must change manually to mpeg for other software to recognise....also wish to know if Ulead can read..

yeah, read somewhere just have to change it manually to .mpg. A review said JVC has been in the market for several years, most of the software will have no problem editing this. But wish to know from real user if Ulead can edit them... cos I think I also read that it can be edited (only?) by movie factory and can't put wordings in it??? I am very used to Ulead already...

Two editing options: copy files off the JVC cam and rename to MPG file for editing (works, but some softwares have lag editing in this format) or use the Docking cradle that has FireWire (optional on some models; reads the camera as a normal DV cam and can import in AVI format.)

I did rename it to .mpg but it's useless when I bring the video into editing software as the sound was lost. I just found out Ulead Video Studio 11+ accepts .mod file without any problem~
