actually it depends a lot on your lens. i usually stack the pl-cir over the uv as well, cos i don't like the idea of exposing the front element for any reason whatsoever. haven't had any form of vignetting yet, but then again the widest i've got is 28mm.

28mm is certainly okay. But 24mm is rather bad. Will be going out this Saturday to do some experiments to find the cause of the problem. I have 1/2 a roll left from my trip about 16-17 shots. So might as well do some experimenting. Might also go into another oll though. Always wanted to do some night shots............but also a lot of housework to do!

Hi TME,

Like to know how you find your Tamron 24-135mm ? Is it sharp ? Any distortion ?

Thanks in advance

The shots are sharp. But as I did not compensate properly for shots under a cloudy sky which was often the case in England, many of my shots were underexposed. But shots that were properly exposed are all pin sharp throughout the range. I got a few good shots of a peacock unfurling its tail at 135mm while I got a good shot of Hampton Court Palace at its widest 24mm. Both were pin harp with excellent colour fidelity. I was using Fuji 200.

It is a good lens to buy. Very versatile and handy to have giving a decent range. But it is heavy heavy heavy. And the filter thread is 77mm. Filters will be more expensive.
