Here is what I would go for if you want to cover the type of work you are doing

A-850
50mm macro for product as often feel 100mm might be a little too long sometimes. If the product shots doesn't need more than 1:5 ratio, even the 24-70 makes a good candidate.

Travel
Either 16-35 if you are into Scenery or 24-70 if you are more of street and stuff. remember there is always an option to stitch 2 images together using the 24mm end if you need wider view and best thing about this is the resolution is going to be more than just 1 single image. Cropping the 16-35 for longer view might sacrifice the image quality.

Portrait
24-70 makes a good portrait lens if you use 50mm - 70mm end. I use this lens a lot around 35mm-70mm for portrait work.

Here is another option...

A-850 + 24-70 f2.8 + extension tube so it gives you macro capability without much weight. But still give you much of the "range".

oh yeah, ditto that. i played with the A850 at the sony gallery for a while. Attached was a 50 mm F1.4 prime....woots, i love that camera.
Huge viewfinder...there's anti-shake. I'll switch too to play if only it doesn't have so much more noise.

Anyway, i think i am passed all that...what i go for nowadays is light and affordable. Really find it dumb to hug around 5-10kgs of equipement whenever i want to shoot. wat's the point ?? I dun make $$ from it.

Am very interested in micro 4/3.
Hope fuji jumps in with their fantastic sensors. Pana and oly release more of their pancake lens..will like a series of primes

14mm F1.4
17mm F1.8
20mm F1.8( out )
25mm F1.4
42mm F1.4
50mm F2 macro ( 1:1)

a cheaper wide angle , eg 9-11mm that is cheap
a all good all in one zoom , eg 12-60mm F2.8-F4....

Woot!!! Same thinking... me thinks this is an excellent platform for travel photography!!!

Oh man, 1 down for Tamron 17-50 or sony 16-105 but those are aps-c built so i geuss its out.

Back to the topic, I guess what matters most at the end is still the body and your budget. The a850 is definitely a bang for your bucks and a reason to go FF. I doubt you can save much on weight wise since FF bodies are heavy in nature. Lens wise, I don't see myself going crazy over CZ technology because of its steep price and there are alternative lenses that can satisfy my work so i suggest thinking about lenses last and I'm pretty sure every manufacturer will have its niche lenses.
So in the end it's still about your budget. The Alpha family welcomes you though! Lol!
