As mention in caption - Is it possible to rotate a video clip?
I took a short video clip with my Prosumer Camera Nikon Coolpix8700 in the vertical position:embrass:. Unlike photo which can be easily rotated, I am seeking answer to this question and if possible how do I go about it? Thanks in advance for any help.:)

Turn your monitor on its side. :)

Or you could use video editing software to rotate the clip. Moviemaker which is free with Windows can do this.

Thanks for the pointer. However sorry for the ignorance. I have Window XP. How do I locate Moviemaker?

so far i only know how to do it on windows using quicktime pro. ;p

I tried it from the office today on a laptop running XP. From memory, it was in the start menu under Accessories. If necessary, do a search in windows to find out if you have it, or how to get it. Actually it's not a great video editor but it is free so it's definitely worth looking for it (and it can rotate video - confirmed). If you really can't find it, let me know and I will look again on Monday when I am back in the office.

Thanks for the trouble;). I already found it but don't work for the clips I have file type: .mov:cry:
The file C:\Documents and Settings\Frankie Koh\My Documents\My Pictures\Korea Vacation\DSCN9094.MOV is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.

You can download the Super converter (it's free) and change the mov clips to avi.

Sorry sorry Super Converter? is it part of Window Moviemaker?

No it's not part of windows. You can go to this site and download it-

http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html

Alternatively here are a couple of direct links to the same download file-

It's worthy getting cos it basically converts any video format to any other video format.

Hi jaegersing,

Thank you so much for the advice and the links. It's been quite a learning experience working on this project of what started as just a simple rotating of a short video clip. Just to keep you updated I have spent the last few days figuring our how to use first the "Super" converter and then the Window Moviemaker. A lot of trial and error. Super was rather hard to use at first because it hasn't got a sort of step by step interface and has a lot of strange terms/jargon which a I couldn't understand. Window Moviemaker was much easier. But as I use it more I have now become more interested in it and more ambitious , I am attempting a bigger scale project; very much in my nature. ;p

The project is taking shape nicely except on the way my PC have locked up twice so far.:(
A little disappointing but I'll persist. I'll post the link to my Youtube account when it is up. Wish me luck.

Thanks for feeding back how you are getting on. And sorry for getting you sucked in to video editing, I'm afraid you will have no free time from now on! :)

I look forward to seeing your masterpiece when it is finished. If you have any other questions feel free to post.

Hard work! Spent many hours the last four days figuring things out. :sweat:Finally my humble end product ;p:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yweUXnLVljg
Please advice and comments.

Just managed to watch the clip, cos my company firewall blocks streaming video. The story is told well, but I suggest you find some livelier music that matches the mood better. I kept thinking something bad was going to happen to the poor cat! Also, it's a pity you didn't show any pictures of it as a small kitten, cos they are so cute at that age. Hope to see your next project soon, maybe with more video?

By the way, my wife is also very fond of cats. Check out her website www.jaegercat.com if you want to see pictures and videos of cats.

Thanks jaegersing for not only guiding me in this little endeavor but following up with some feedback, It means a lot to me;). Sure I will check out your wife's website.
