Introduce me Camcorder

Hi guys. I new to camcorder. i need someone to introduce me 1 as my baby is coming out soon.

budget can go up to 1.3k but best if can keep at 1k. built in mic, full hd/hd. lightweight to carry around. SITEX09 is here. thinking of getting there.. any recommendations?

I think there's a similar post from another father-to-be. He bought a Panasonic TZ7 and was very very happy with his choice. TZ7 is a hybrid pocket camera that records stills and AVCHD. It has a mind blowing 25mm-300mm 12X zoom. One camera for any purpose.

Can consider Sony CX-100E is a good choice. Record HD on Flash memory. I think $1399.

A used HV30 would be great or a new HV40. These are using tape so the workflow is pretty much easily available. Flash memory camcorders either use H.264/Mov or AVCHD which have their own workflow and a somewhat steep learning curve.
