Intervalometer for OMD EM5 (DIY Solution)

Testing out both my contraptions...

Taken with the EP1, total of 172 frames, 30 frames per sec.

I realised something about the Micro 4/3 system. It is a bit slower in terms of the capturing.
Each frame shutter speed is around 1/4 sec, so I have to set the exposure timer to the next highest which is 1 sec.
However, for the setting, to be able to capture the frames in sequence successfully, the interval is around 3 secs...

What a lot of wasted effort...why not just buy the proper cable? I use the same cable bought from B&H for three different trigger devices, a basic, a timer, and a light/sound trigger unit.

From what I've read, most of the problems were caused by nut fully inserting the cable into the camera.

Dear Mike,

What you see is wasted effort but it may be an insight to others who are facing similar problems. :)

Thomas Edison tried and failed nearly two thousand times ... he said 'I didn't fail, I found out two thousand ways how not to make a light bulb...

I've tried the Phottix Nikos before, even went back to the shop to try with a different unit when I encountered the problem. It's not a matter of fully inserting the cable.

To each his own, i guess. One can get a cheap remote and DIY the cable and use it now, or buy a new cable online (dun think can find locally) and wait. And for some, the process is part of the fun. =)

Well, I'm trying to provide insight that's it's wasted effort that could be solved by buying the proper cable. Also not everyone can solder...but anyone can purchase something from a store! Also with my method I've never failed once!
