Just an update for you guys.

They need to order the OME53 as it is not in stock.
Everything should arrive in SG on 14/15 May. I will try to arrange pickup on the weekend (19 May) in town. Another option is during evening at potong pasir or boon keng MRT during weekdays.

Definitely able to do manual focus with confidence now and also "correct" the AF sometimes.
The screen is as bright as the original.

From what I found out, these screens are modified from X700 screens by enterprising Chinese.

Oh...think I missed the boat. Looking for a split screen too. Anyone? Curious do you experience any metering issues with the new split screen? Pentax forum advises that such a screen may affect metering accuracy...

Metering, hmm it seems to be about 1/3 overexpose. I am using K10D.
