Ink Gallery in Sim Lim. *STAY AWAY*

Hi guys, just in case you were looking at this thread planning to get a CISS system, I'd recommend you to stay away from Ink Gallery in Sim Lim. Apparently, I bought a set of replacement cartridges at 100 dollars (which later I found it was sold for 60 dollars only). He told me that next time if I want to upgrade to a CISS system, I would just need to top up another 80 dollars. But today, I called him he told me that I had to top up another 180 dollars. What a ripoff! Yea true maybe some of the members would say obviously I didn't do my research, save it. I'll gladly admit it, but the salesman did sound awfully convincing. All I want is to inform others about this shop, so they wouldn't commit the same mistake as me.

Later today, I called up SingInk, and they were a godsend. They were willing to sell me thier CISS parts separately so I didn't have to spend another 180 dollars trying to fix it up. Thumbs up for them. Generally, I have used their pigment ink in my HP printers, and it works really well. No print head clogs. I'd recommend them.

Hi there,

Thanks for the update and information but what is CISS system? care to elaborate?

cheers.

Noted with thanks!

Just to share my experience with SingInk. Their service at the Square2 outlet is nice and not-pushy. Anyway, their products serve its purpose well at their prices.

Previously, on my old Brother-brand 4-in-1 machine (Fax, scan, print, copy) the DIY ink refill system worked fine, until the printer paper-jam issue got terribly bad. By using the $40 ink refils from SingInk, I saved more than an estimated $160 worth from the 4 times I topped up the ink.

Here's the not-so-good part:
Half the $40 refill left unused, so I decided to get the new Brother-brand printer (3-in-1) at $88. However, the black ink jam on first refill. Nothing can get the black ink to pump again.. I resorted to printing blue, red or yellow text.

Guess I'm just unlucky.

I'll still go third-party-DIY-refill for casual colour printing at home. Until my current printer conk out totally, I'll live with blue text printouts.:dunno:

They are Continuous Ink Systems attached to printers.

Hi s1762,

You might want to try doing a deep head cleaning (available in your print driver options) on your printer. I suspect that the inkhead is clogged. If you are more adventurous, you migh want to take out your printer's inkhead to unclog it. You might want to take a look at the following article:

http://www.weeno.com/art/0899/140.shtml

Hope to hear from you soon, if you do try it out. I personally clean all my print heads with alcohol. Works. Just get some isopropyl alcohol (guardian sells it for under 5 dollars, cant remeber exactly) and yeap follow the instructions. You might be able to find specific instructions for your printer on google like I did for mine.

Cheers.

came across this thread cos i was googling for their(ink gallery sim lim level 5) contact (forget to take their namecard).
i think i have different opinion. Just got from them, service was good n fast.
and the sales are friendly...(and ''lo so''... :p )

i will recommend to my frens n my NAFA schoolmates .
cos art students usually need print alot of research n reference..
and going to a printing co. cost alot.
normal (epson) ink use up very fast.
fixing the ''refill ink thing'' is less than 200 (already comes with ink...alot) and
heard from them if after that buy ink is big bottle less than $10 if im not wrong...
so definitely is cheaper than normal printer ink. cos normal ink(for my printer) is $10-20 and use up very fast.

oh ya, and i thought there was a problem after fixing, and call them up and they are willing to come down
to service. (but the problem was solve after doing clean head/nozzle)

so far i think ink gallery service is good.

im not promoting for them. just felt that they are not that bad that u said. :)
maybe u are the unlucky one...

Thanks lordpain for the reply and the photo image. Now I know what is CISS.

i've been using SingInk for dunno how many years now, so far no prob what so ever. .

i m using singink too. the original brother ink cartridge will run out of ink even not using for printing. the self cleaning process will use up the ink in 3 to 4 months time. something wrong with theier cartridge, so little ink, and will stop printing witn about 20% ink left inside.

I feel so thankful that I find this post.

I bought my printer from InkStation and over 2 years I have nightmares with my epson printer with ink leaking, and declogging, and lately I am stucked with the 2 flashing light that says some chip with the ink set need to be reset.

When I visited back InkStation, the China manager told me he offers to try fix for $30 but no guarantee. I walked to the next few shop down, and find INK GALLERY, with the same Salesman who sells me the Printer.

So he has quited from InkStation, and works for InkGallery next door. He told me all the bad things that InkStation, and that InkStation dun know how to repair printer, and that critize about their inks are actually made to spolit my printer. SO i argued with him, why so dishonest, and promote me this printer. And the Salesman tells me, he will charge me $50 to try repairing and even better if I can buy a new printer from him again.

I am just about to go back to both InkStation and InkGallery to argue my case again. It is really not nice the way they treat their customers. Btw, InkGallery website does not even exist. My Goodness. STAY AWAY FROM INKSTATION AND INKGALLERY.

Can anyone be kind to PM me where is the SingInk shop, does it also locate at SimLim? I wish to ask if they can help me repair my printer.

Yes, I notice printer will stop printing when only 20% left, so i think it is time to refill the ink. Importantly is that the ink does not leak.

Hi Hi, i am a new user to clubsnap. Happen to come along this thread. Wow lord pain..seems that you had been mistreated and everyone else. Actually i had been using 1390 for the past 2 yrs and previously i been using a ciss from singink. The black ink did clog my printhead and i print with many lines. I called and bring down the printer to singink but they told me the printhead was clogged due to my under usage and none of their ink business. Perhaps its my fault and so i carried my printer away. Luckily i saw inkstation guy, their manager who wear spec and he offered to check it out for me. He help me to wash the printhead and thanks God, he manage to clear it. He gave me a very detailed and logical explaination of why the ink clog. Soon i been frequently going down to buy ink from inkstation. No matter what technical problems i had, he could help me to solve it. However not long after i couldn't find him anymore. Think he resign. Luckily, i saw him in a new company called Inkgallery and he could still recognize me. Happily once again, i brought my printer with old singink tank to him. He help me to rectify it but, too bad, this time the chips on the singink cartridge fail. No choice, i got to buy 1 from him. Guess how much i paid?$280. So i am not helping them but, i think u really got it misunderstand. Its quite ex, but so long its problem free. As a true photographer, i think all we want is quality and after service. Price doesnt matter for rich people like us who need good products. I did question them on your behalf lordpain and Jeremiah(i got to know later) gave me a good explanation. $100 for refill cartridge and $180??? for ciss. Why wouldn't u take the ciss with 10 times ink volume? You should know it better. Thru out the years i know him, he never criticise other brands or blame you. His interest is only "U bring in, i will just repair" Even i got a brother printer using those compatible cartridge which clog, he help me to repair and charge me $20. Dun u think u should reconsider your words in your thread to bring people down? They are earning a living after all and did u bother to listen? I believe LORD and being his name of Jeremiah, Lord wouldnt want u to do this else, pls change your name.

I strongly recommend you all to go to his shop to fix up your printer as he is strong in technical for those where your printer child are left unwanted or spoil in the neverland.

Mr jikowhite wolf, try going to look for jeremiah. I dunno if you met him or his colleagues, as usually in a company, the name should be good. Even if it is tarnished, it is the behaviour of the workers. Pls dun put their name at risk because of 1 black sheep.

Ultimately, all of us just want thing..ie to print happily with good quality output from our camera and problem free + save costs for our hobby.

Pls everyone, stop pinpointing on company names as i believe it is individuals that cause unhappiness. Not the company. Unless it is their products, YES..u may do that. If it is individual service to you all, dun u think u should direct the blame to individuals?

i got my unhappiness b4 in singink, inkstation when jeremiah is not ard and in other cases, like after service in hotel and restaurants. Is it their company at fault or is it just the individuals that never treat us well?

Never let a GOOD guy go to waste and even criminals have nice one. Not all are Evil. Lord give them a chance, do u?:)
