Good new FCP 7 and Panasonic camcorder users!
Panasonic has released a new time-saver plug-in for FCP7.0.3 that allows you to directly import their AVCHD files into your bin without Log andTransfer. So far I have tested with footage from HMC152, GH2, and JVC HM-30. It works!

Found this post which says the plug-in seems to work for Canon DSLR and Sony NX5 as well.
