Areality: I got back the important shots including some additional shots which I've already backed up to my DVD R and XdriveII. Some were corrupted but the program still managed to piece back the bits, I can see from the thumbnail certain parts had details while the rest were garbage. Seems to me that NEF is not something a lot of recovery programs can successfully recover back.

I don't mind helping out people with recovery, I've got Image Rescue 2, Rescue Pro and eImage Recovery now don't use also wasteful, but during the ordeal the IR2 and RP managed to gain back my latest shots after formatting so am pretty confident next time that if the card has problems the s/w(s) I have should still work pretty fine.
