I'm a Photographer..

i would have to say that those people who have interests and passion for photography are photographers. Just because you carry a camera phone doesn't mean you're a photographer.

"What lens are you using?"
"A what...?"
"Nevermind."

LOLLOL! :bsmilie:

so that mean yesterday i'm nothing and today i brought a high end equipments, i call myself a photographer.. therefore i can charge peoples for photo shooting, am i right to say that..?

Sure, why not? Charging people for your time to render those services and investment in your equipment is expected.

However, whether the client sees it is justifiable to pay what you charge is another story. :bsmilie:

"owning a canon doesn't make you a photographer. it makes you a canon owner."

"owning a canon doesn't make you a photographer. it makes you a canon owner."

true :D

owning any camera just means you're the owner of a camera. owning a lens means that you're the owner of a lens.

everyone can be a photographer. but being a photographer doesn't necessarily mean that the pictures you take will be beautiful/amazing/nice/awesome/awe-inspiring/etc

So technically, although you own cameras and lenses does not equate you being a photographer and a photographer may not own cameras or lenses...he/she just needs to have photography as a hobby or job....

Well, just like Chinese say "沒有三兩三,怎敢上梁山" :bsmilie:

I think we need to think why we are so concerned about a name. Why did you pick up photography? To be called a photographer? It's just a name. If you care too much whether you can be called one, or whether you can't, my sense would be that you don't seem to be focusing on the photographs.

@2:00
"what are you charging them?"
"my session is $50.00, and they get every images on CD."
"Oh..Ok, good luck with that, I got to go."

this is really good luck with that, and hope he will eventually understand what does that mean.
