Hi all the IT experts there, anyone can help?

I got problem logging into a particular website forum, i got my user id, pw correct but kept on having this message appearing "you need to be logged in to view this page". I asked the forum administrator for help but he said there's nothing wrong with my account. He asked me to try delete cookies, cache, lower my security and privacy settings which i have done all the above. Finally he gave up and ask me download mozilla instead. I haven't download firefox yet and dun wish to because the program is kinda unstable. So i was wondering anyone came across this problem before or know how to fix this???? I am using IE8 and windows7. I was able to log into my account before i switched to windows7.

Hope there's anyone can help. Thank you.

firefox is unstable?? it is the most stable browser out there..

and also, which forum are you talking about? you might want to let us know so we can test it for you...

rofl best joke of the day. firefox unstable.

what the hell am i using?!

If you don't trust Firefox, perhaps you can try IE9 Beta?

I think the fault is windows7. TS can login before windows7 right?

in fact IE is the last browser in my list of browsers in my laptop.
1) Firefox 4 beta
2) Firefox 3
3) Google chrome
4) safari
5) IE

Only use IE on those stupid websites that couldnt work properly on firefox.

i scrapped IE altogether when i started using firefox.
changed to chrome.
now changed to rockmelt.

so far, chrome and rockmelt are my favorites.
why not try these over IE8?

you can also try clearing your browser's cache, history, including cookies. of course, it means it will ask you to re-enable them again when you log on to websites that use cookies.

Try running the site in compatibility View Mode....goto Tools> Compatibility View Settings and Add

I got problem logging into a particular website forum...

I had problems using Firefox to use LinkedIn and so far IE did not give me the same problem. With FF, somehow when I accept a connection it will continously ask me for password to login, while with IE it only asks once.

It might be cookies or other 'user problems' but I did not have the interest to trace the problem. anyone experienced the same, or truely it is a 'user' problem?

However, my preference is to use FF as I feel it is faster, and I prefer to use the ctrl-pgup/dn keys to switch between tabs (instead of clicking the tab).

To all beloved forum members out there who replied to this thread, ok firstly thank you for taking the effort to read and reply and giving me advises to this issue. Well, seems like i'm getting all the "bombs" regarding to the comments that I made abt "Firefox is unstable". Aiyo, relax la. Its just my personal comment and preference not to use firefox wat. Why is the FF fanz so uptight abt this comment hahaha. Okok, i change to, the firefox is not stable in my previous computer and often crashes, so is my computer unstable, ok? Happy?

Anyway despite of everyone saying FF is better over IE, i still prefer to use IE. LOL. Why does everyone dislike IE so much.

Sorry back to the topic, I am not asking you guys whether is IE or FF better here. Regarding to the problem that I have raised, I have solved it!!!!! :D Guess what, all thanks to Rocky78 advise, the website can only be logged in via proxy setting. Aiyo, the forum administrator also never think of this lo. *Faint*. Becos i go and install the google chrome and then try log in also cannot leh. So cannot be the IE problem liao. So must log in via proxy la, alamak waste my time.

Ok, the problem is solved. Thanks Rocky78. :) And i still prefer to use IE haha. ;p;p

Using Internet Explorer 8 too. But using Google search engine.
It is good (stick with what works for you and don't care too much what others say)
Dislike Chrome.

Use firefox for all your browsing needs, and IE only for those websites that don't display or work properly with firefox.
If still having problems, maybe try an older version of IE.

Hi,

You are welcome.

This happens when the host website blocks certain range of IP Address for whatever reasons.

After awhile, you will be able to login as usual when they release the IP Address.

Proxy sites are unknown and anonymous, so just login and do what you need and logoff from them after use. Don't stay for too long.

;)

You are not alone. At home, I used to install Firefox. It was memory intensive, doesn't show many web sites, doesn't display all pictures in CS, FB comes out wrong etc. So I went back to IE. Nothing wrong.

Those who scorn mindlessly remind me of Apple fanboys.
