Ideal Viewcam?

I dont like to have those "fix" HDD inside the viewcam as firstly, they are heavy! Secondly, if hardly use, the disk might spoil easily.

Why can't they make a viewcam that support CF card and can insert 2 or more at 1 go? With writing speed up to 90MB/sec (are there higher speed?), shouldn't it be enough for video recording even at HD? The viewcam will be much lighter and also, the storage is depend on user.

Another feature, is having a build in GPS. When we on the move for a long distance n doing recording, we turn on GPS. When view back, we could see the map at one corner showing where are we. It's quite fun and also, at least you know where you been to and can trace back the route.

I still using Mini DV and so, I really hope this kind of viewcam will surface one day. Maybe soon, as technology moves so fast. ;);p

There are many camcorders that fit your description. from the tiny Sony HDR-TG5V to the prosumer Sony NX70. Both have GPS and internal flash memory. Internal drives are now flash memory based which are very small with no moving parts.

Apple iPhone will perfectly fit your requirements...HD video, Lightweight, solid-state flash memory, built-in GPS, phone, memo, and lots of app available to customise your camera. :P

I saw some from Sony. Now with the DEV 5, I wonder should I go for it or a normal video camera (Memory type and long hours recording). I just love to "capture" every moment when at oversea. Cause you hardly will go back the same place again and also, $ and age matters. haha!
