The blogger Xiaxue does it so well. How do you create the words "Episode 14"? And as she talks she's got words appearing on the video as well

Sorry! I'm really a newbie to video-editing. But generally what does one need to produce this kind of video?

Thanks any bro or sis who can contribute... :)

Any decent video editing software can let you do this. It is simple text/titles superimposed over the video. Do you have an editing program right now?

Hi jaegersing,

my colleague will lend me his Pinnacle software. I heard about it but looks like a huge learning curve ahead?

There is a lot to learn, but it can be a lot of fun as well. In fact, if you try it and don't enjoy it, better get someone else to do it because it is quite time-consuming. I would start with an entry-level program like Pinnacle and see how it goes. That way if you find it's not your cup of tea, at least you won't have wasted a lot of money.'

What you want to do is not that difficult, you have a track for video and a track above for text. In fact you can have several tracks with text which is an easy way to work because you can put each line of text on a different track and make them appear and disappear independently and when you want.

Just go through the manual on online help and ask questions when you get stuck.

If you're Windows user, have you tried Movie Maker? It's free and comes with your OS. I think Windows Vista also comes with it. Features are limited but with a bit of creativity, you can make awesome videos! I took photos and video clips from a digital camera, loaded them into Movie Maker, inserted transitioning frames between video/photos, added text overlays whenever I needed, added soundtrack and even credits at the end of the show! You should definitely try this first before purchasing other commerical softwares. Happy editing!

I have tried with Pinnacle studio and it works for me very well. Its not all powerful, but it can provide quite a fair bit of really useful features to create interesting film. There is a learning curve there, which is the same for any other softwares, but once we grap hold of one, learning the other softwares will be easier since the approach is not far different. And well for the remaining part to create good film, its really just your creativity and experience.

Do give it a try and see if its your cup of tea...

thanks guys! will heed the advice given. :)
