How to change username?

Since this is your very first post, it would probably be easier for you to create a new account with the name you want. Alternatively, you could write to the management and request that your name be changed.

On another note and slightly related..... to those in the 'know'.....

I've noticed that under the user name, listed is one of 3 designations....,

1. 'New Member'
2. 'Member'
3. 'Senior Member'.

These seem to change on their own. I know because I saw mine changing from 'New Member' to 'Member' without any intervention of my own. My question is, how or by what criteria do these change?

If you have more than 50 posts you change from new member to member. Senior members seems to have something to do with the date of joining rather than the number of posts

You need to PM any mod to de-register this account and then you can create a new account cos clone accounts are not allowed...

New member-->Member: You need to have min 50 posts or registered for more than 30 days

haha... some of them got hit by bugs. i saw a member with 5 million posts before. its just a rough guide.

some have less than the number of post counts but are already senior member. sion is one i think

I think that was because KPT counts were inadvertently included at some point, that pushed a number of members post count beyond 2000. Though the count posts were subsequently adjusted to exclude the KPT posts, the member status remained.

Having said all that, for those wondering, senior member got not special powers and privileges or discounts when buying camera stuff, so don't get too hung up on these "tags". :bsmilie:

Anyway,if i'm not wrong SM also can PM up to 5 people per message while a normal member can only PM up to 2 or 3 people per message...
