How to change NTSC to pal?

Hi there, got a new camcorder, HD Sony XR520V, which I bought in the US recently, but I live in Germany and was trying to load the video into my laptop (Acer, 2 Duo processor, 1,5 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 Cache, 2 GB DDR2)
Does anyone know if it´s possible to convert the HD NTSC into a SD PAL (to burn films to DVD)?

Question now lies back to you. Do you really need to convert it back to PAL/25fps?
Most TV & DVD players can support playback in NTSC/60/29fps modes & PAL/25/50i modes.
Just burn a NTSC standard DVD.

Depending on your workflow, if you need to convert, there are two methods....software conversion which isn't very good, and hardware conversion which is excellent, but price ranges significantly from a few hundred bucks convertor to something over 20grand.
