hey bros... need some help here...

just gotten a flash bracket.... (the only one i can find in peninsula)... as shown below:

problem is ..the flash bracket's hotshoe is the standard iso type... so the flash cant be directly attached to it... the "lucky" thing is there is a threaded hole just beside hotshoe on the flash bracket... so i was thinking can use the 5600's flash-stand ...

then another problem arise... tried looking at DIY stores and cant find correct screw and nut... (the screw's thread spacing different... so cannot fit into the hole)...

so..... any suggestion how to attach the flash to the flash bracket? Any bro care to share their setup? Saw Sulhan used flash bracket before but forgot how he did it... I was thinking if really no other solution...then tie the flash-stand to the bracket using cable-ties or wire.. haha :bsmilie:

thanx in advance!

Those ISO type flash mount should be removable and it is generally hold down using few tiny screws. Just remove it and drill a hole through it and you can mount the screw on the MS-2 stand.

you got it the first time - cheapest is to use the flash stand.

actually i mount my sigma on an os-1100 which then fits in the shoe. but it's a bit of an expensive and unecessary solution since your 5600 has a dedicated terminal for the oc-1100 to attach to.

Am using the same bracket. you need to have the OS-1100 inorder to mount your 5600 onto the bracket shoe.

hi hart... thanx for your reply..the iso flash mount is quite securely "bolted" to the bracket.. tried to remove but seems quite hard....

there is already a threaded hole beside the bracket, problem is i cant find the screw with the correct thread spacing.... are those tripod screws easily available?

pai and johnston... thanx...yeah i think the os1100 will be a solution... albeit an expensive one... :bsmilie:

hmmz... i was then thinking whether can find those cheap cheap and small ballhead... bracket>ballhead>flash stand>flash ... i vaguely remember seeing somebody do it like that... but again forgot liao... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

dunno leh, the bracket i bought came with 2 screws. i'm not very hardware savvy, so can't help you much here. if desperate, buy another bracket and take the screw from there lor :D few dollars only.

the mini-ballheads ur talking about... make sure you get a good quality one (won't be cheap!)

i had a cheap one with a base that slides into the bracket, so i used it for the combo you're talking about. but it had problems supporting the weight of the big sigma flash, and spoilt

I think sulhan uses a Giottos mini ballhead that costs around S$22 if I don't remember wrongly... he uses the stand to attach the flash via the tripod mount on the stand to the screw of the ballhead... it's actually a lot more versatile this way cos u can really vary the angle of attack of the light coming from the flash... bouncing for macro is also possible with more variations.
