Pardon my ignorance, i need to ask all gurus, how tight should a screw-mount lens be screwed on? Unlike the m mount i know for sure the correct 'Lens-body' is aligned when clicked. i am very tempted to screw harder (pardon my vocab), but i will not be sure if it is aligned perfectly right? a master told me just make sure there is no gap between lens to adapter, or lens to body, that makes sense too, just wanna hear others' view, thanks so much for yr help!

Hi Dtoh,

I'm using a LTM Canon on my Leica, through an adapter, I don't over tighten the screw between the lens and the adapter, just a little extra pressure when the lens has gone in all the way to make sure it doesn't slip out while shooting or focusing.

Cheers!

You need to tighten to a torque of 15Ncm!!:..........just kidding...:bsmilie::bsmilie:
I just tighten to metal to metal contact & then just a little more.

It all started as a thought whether this 'rough-gauge' would affect precise focusing, guess not since we all just screw in based on estimation..& seems happy with the focusing.
Thanks again mamypoko & gommy, guess thats my best bet, not overly tighten,& metal to metal contact.
I was only thinking if there were any technical method or gauge for precision. Maybe not afterall.. Cheers & thanks again.

Bro, other than my 35 cron, all my other lenses are screw-mount. Think Voigtlander makes pretty high quality adaptor with strict tolerance, hence I guess none of us has issue with focusing. I also got a Leica adaptor but doesn't really use it as I am unable to do 6-bit coding.

All this tech spec, remind me of this guitarist - Eric Johnson, who's so technical he even choose his effects pedal batteries and cables according to the impact on his guitar tone. :-)
