The Slik would set you back around S$125 but take note that it would not hold your SLR and a huge telephoto zoom (assuming 70-200 f/2.8 or the 80-200 eqv) steadily when on its potrait orientation.

try MS, iirc their 330dx / 340dx each quoted 10bucks cheaper than CP. but as for me its not worth it since i will have to travel much further :cry:.

not sure about 340dx, but i got a 330dx, it hold my d50 + 80-200 f2.8 pretty well (portrait) or d50 + sb600 + 80-200 f2.8 in landscape, haven try putting flash in portrait tho :sweat:. actually i think its alrite since you will be mounting the ballhead onto the tripod collar and not on the camera tripod socket, which makes it well balanced. :thumbsup:
