Reality check. When it comes to printing, good and cheap seldom co-exist. Its either one.

I've said it, I'll say it again. Don't go for "cheap", go for "good". Go for "consistently good". "good and cheap" and "cheap and good" don't exist in the world of photo labs.

You've spent a lot of money on the equipment and spent a lot of time to take the photos, do your work some justice. Go to a good lab. Bad photos demoralize you, or worse, cause you to put the blame on equipment.

Good prints inspire you to take better photos. :)

If you look thru all the old posts, the "cheap" ones are usually not consistent. $0.50 per 4R digital print is not that ex if you are selective about what you print.

Okee, thanks. But any recommendations ?

Try PhotoHub at Raffles Place.

does the shops accept BMP ? I'm thinking of doing my editing then saving in BMP to prevent loss of data..

Should be FotoHub (or at least I think you're refering to the same one.. ;) )
If your quantity is not large, can do it online at http://www.fotohub.com/ . They've waived the $5 handling charge thingy...

..NuTs..

Don't believe in that sort of fallacy (at least as far as printing up to 8x10 goes). JPEG-FINE is more than enough for such purposes. TIFF is just waste of space and time on the camera/storage card. Even if you shoot in RAW, there's no perceptible difference if you send the files in JPEG-FINE or TIFF or BMP to the lab for printing.

And obviously you wouldn't want to send 24-bit 12-megapixel TIFFs to the labs... that's a whopping 70+MB!
