Hi guys , i jus bought a DB-036 ... wonder wats the suitable RH for DSLR ? :)

In singapore room temp is ok. (26+?)

Ehhh ... nope ... currently the cab shows 25 ? is it ok or ?

yeah. don't worry too much about temp. just make sure RH is between 45-55%

The RH can be adjusted according to the dial but the temperature is only measuring temperature of the surroundings and not the cabinet.

Mine is always between 45-50%.

how abt temp ?
The display is humidity and temperature display. Unless your dry-cab is pro series (which I believe DB-036 is not), there is no link between the display and dehumidifier unit. Means you only can set the dehumidifier power knob inside the dry cab, and the display is just only displaying humidity and temperature inside the box.

Recommendation from manufacturer of Digi-cabi is 40-50%RH for photography gears. Read the manual.

In my location (Paya Lebar area), the temp is between 29-31degreeC. In rainy day can be 28degreeC. Usually the dry cab will showing temperature 1 or 2 degree less (depend on power knob setting or non-pro or pro series dry cab) than outside temperature (I mean room temperature). The reason of temperature drop in dry cab is because the dehumidifer unit using peltier technology (thermo couple), which will have cold side inside the dry cab to condense the 'water in air' inside the dry cab. This cold side will bring down temperature inside the dry cab, but not strong enough to make the dry cab as a refrigerator.

Just open the door for about 1 minute. It should showing humidity around 70-80%RH (analog or digital display) if you are in Singapore and not in air-cond room (in air-cond room, it can go below 50%RH). Close the door, and make sure dehumidifier is working (RED and GREEN LED are on). After some times (can be half hour, 1 hour, or more), the display will showing lower humidity.

BTW, if you are on 24/7 air-cond room (or in low humidity country), you might no need dry cab.

hmmm set 45 bah unless its a DHC like mine then set to 50%

:D :D good luck i reliase i used up the space liaoz~~~~ *sighs*

My AD-60 even though either set towards L or H in the 'M' zone, RH still drops below 45%.

how low below 45%? I still cannot understand the golden rule for RH setting. :dunno:

Yah same here..despite me turning to the higher side, it still drops to as low as 30% or maybe even 20+.

The setting of RH for non-pro series dry cab is only by trial and error. Usually I check, which one full turn will make the LED turn off or on. Decide which RH you want (it is between 40-50%RH for photography gears, for example you choose 45%RH). Say you get full left turn LED off and full right turn LED on. Try put knob on middle and let it run for about 1 hour. If the display is higher from 45%RH, turn the knob to left a bit. Wait for 1 hour, if still higher than 45%RH, turn the knob to left a bit. Until it is stay at 45%RH. Wait for a day and check and do fine tune again. Usually 2-3 days you get the set RH.

If the knob have letter L, M, H, it is mean Low, Medium, High humidity. But, for some model maybe different L, M, H mean Low, Medium, High power, which is mean high power will bring humidity lower than low power.
