Having so much bad luck on ebay for the Minolta 70-200mm f/2.8 HS...

might just get the new one...

*prays for a toto win*

Ha Ha.. good choice.
One of the top 3 minolta lenses in the list.. :)
but a new body is coming up this year.. you may want to save some $$ for it.

all the lens mentioned are definitely out of my budget.
but the possibility of a new sony camera sounds exciting.

cos no 70-200 HS mah... only 70-200 SSM

Aiyaa... Typo mah. I meant the 80-200. They tend to go for about 1600 USD on ebay.

Which is still cheaper then the Sony version, and the focus speed is incredibly fast.

I just got the A100.... Very happy with it. Won't see a need to go for a new body unless it's really spectacular. (low noise up to ISO 3200? Full-frame sensor? Faster FPS in burst mode?)

Then again, if it's full-frame, I'll need to invest in zoom lenses. I kinda like the fact that my 75-300mm is effectively 450mm.

Or just dream that $ony reduces the prices of their lenses...

I saw this link: http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/forum_posts.asp?TID=9799&KW=85mm+f1%2E4

and out of 9 lenses listed, 3 are from Minolta :)
Don't know if it's still valid anymore..
can't afford to have any of those mentioned lenses

Most likely will keep 2 DSLR, 1 full frame for scenery, portrait, low light condition and large printing. 1 APS-C sensor for marco, birding and travel (light weight).

Was trying to get one this morning... But in the last 5 minutes before the bidding ended, it went from $1025 to $1675, way out of my budget.

i know i buy a 70-200 or 80-200 f2.8 range, sure in dry cabi most of the time

Couldn’t agree more. Had a 70-210 f2.8 Sigma for a couple of years, but it was the least utilized of all my lenses.

I would gladly take my 135mm out anytime.

ya i prefer my 135 f2.8 too... short & powerful.

trying to accustom to my 50 f1.4, the 50 f1.7 was in the dry cabi ever since i bought it... haha... 50 f1.4 is just darn nice.
