How does Search work?

Hi it's behaving differently since the upgrade?

I opened the Olympus pricelist, and searched that thread with "E-510" no hits. "*510" no hits. Despite having E-510 showing up numerous times on the front page. What's the regex style again? The help seems to have disappeared from the search bar...

I just tried "olym*" in the buy/sell and it came up with only 5 records... while "olympus" gave me 3 week old ones...
There was a thread on the front page, and it never showed up on either.
indexing problem?
