Hoping to grab one this coming sitex. Is there a de facto newbie dslr ard?

Major concern is not to have proprietary lens. Budget ard $1.3K

Was surfing ard. How this?

Anyway, its always not advisable to buy from computer shows as they are usually selling at RPP inclusive of many unless "FREEBIES".

As for the camera, it is usually very difficult to advise which to get. Just get the model that you think you like best. Just a word of advice, if you are planning to get 2nd hand lens or accessories, try to get the more common brands.

Major brands all got proprietary lens, flashes, batteries, etc. Can't run away from that.
For that budget, can consider getting a nicely used set (with kit lens) from the Buy & Sell Forum here. Lots of good bargains there.
Best to stick with the major brands (hint: C or N). Easier to buy and sell used.
