give them a call. During the sale, the website did not change it's price.

thanks for the advice.
ill call them to find out.
thank you for the review aswell.

it seems the sale is over and advised me to check again in the next i.t. show...

Do check SGCameraStore's section in CS forums. Even during the sale the price in the website did not change, neither did they say anything about the sale. So it's probably only available to people on CS and some other sites. Btw the sale was a one-day sale, so it's quite easy to miss. I went at 2pm and even the sales staff didn't know there's such a sale. But they know some sites have privilege of knowing such sales, so they just checked the CS forum section and said "OK. I believe what I see loh."

i wanted to get one today, but there was no stock. I've a shoot on sunday and need a grip urgently so I bought a Meike brand. Yes, dials are reversed. Irritating, but I can live with it i guess.. :(

Mine got one reversed dial too, but I'm already used to it haha.

Update: accidentally knocked the grip against the bottom of the body lightly. Found very light markings left by the impact on the body, while the grip is completely fine. However, my EN-EL15 battery tray seems to be faulty already. It shows a low-battery sign flickering when I insert it in. Sometimes it's fine though. Gonna head to SGCameraStore maybe today and see if they will do something about it

How's ur grip buddy?

didn't had time to go >.> prolly Friday or Thursday i guess. I've been sleeping at 9am and waking at 5am so it's kinda hard to find the right time. warranty still long anyway.

I tried it with the AA battery tray already. Works fine. The buttons and dials are also still functional, so it's probably the tray. BTW, according to your review, my grip is the old one. But it doesn't has the reversed dial... Hmm...

Then that means in terms of cosmetic aspect, we won't be able to differentiate whether the grip is a new or old version. Only the circuit board(or the rom) matters.

Alrighties a moment ago I just went to the store. They checked to make sure the tray really is faulty and then exchanged one for me. But mine is the old version so the new tray doesn't fits, and they exchanged the whole grip and both trays for me instead

As usual, great service from SGCameraStore!

Makes me wonder what happens to my old grip though. Send for repair and tuning then send back to sell again?

Depends on manufacturers. Sometimes it doesn't make economic sense to repair, so they dump it. The bigger enterprises will sell as refurbished or use them as replacement sets. Maybe for ur set, they will make a replacement battery holder? Who knows?

Oh so the new one I got might be used by another person but defective so sent back for repair, and finally ends up with me?

We never know? Depends on how the supplier works. But seriously, for such small ticket items, I think they can't b bothered to refurbish them.

it all depends ba.. company like apple also sell those that user sent back and after they repair them, they sell as refurbish..

Well whatever the case it's good as new. Compared to the old one, this has a much tighter shutter button and stick. Doesn't feels loose like the previous one

The replacement I got also has a firmer d-pad. The first one was loose like crazy, felt used.

Yeah. It didn't feel like it's gonna fall off, but it feels very loose. The shutter button also feels like it's popping out
